SEPA Decision: The Town of Friday Harbor has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. The determination was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2). The lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days. Comments must be submitted to the Agency Contact no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 21, 2021.

Appeal Process: An appeal of this decision may be filed in writing with the Town of Friday Harbor in accordance with Friday Harbor Municipal Code 18.04.210; no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 5, 2021. You should be prepared to make specific factual objections.

A REQUEST FOR COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, AND/OR AMENDMENTS TO THE TOWN OF FRIDAY HARBOR’S CRITICAL AREAS ORDINANCE & SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM PERIODIC UPDATES
Pursuant to RCW 36.70A and WAC 173-26-104 the Town is required to solicit early public and agency feedback to the proposed 2021 Periodic Updates of the 1997 Critical Areas Ordinance and 2015 Shoreline Master Program, respectively. Subsequent to the comment period, the Planning Commission will review the comments, suggestions, and/or proposed amendments in their entirety.
The comment period closes March 5, 2021. There will be future opportunities to comment.
Following work sessions and required public hearings, the Planning Commission will forward their recommendations to the Friday Harbor Town Council for consideration and subsequent action.
