REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS
The Town of Friday Harbor will receive sealed bid proposals for the following project: TITLE: UW PS #1 & #2 Reconstruction
DESCRIPTION: The work covered by the Contract Documents consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary for the construction of removal of existing pumps and installation of new pumps, valves, electrical, controls, generator, wet/dry well modifications, force main installations/connections, site work, and related work, all in accordance with the Contract Plans and Specifications. Most work will be in operating wastewater pump stations, so all work will have to be performed without interference in the operations.
ESTIMATED TOTAL BID (BASE+BID ALT.) COST RANGE: $600,000 to $700,000 (incl. sales tax)
SUBMITTAL TIME/DATE/LOCATION: The bid opening date for this project will be Wednesday March 22, 2017. The bids will be opened and read after 12:00 p.m. on this date. Bids received after the time fixed for opening cannot be considered. All bid envelopes must be plainly marked on the outside, "Sealed Bid, UW PS #1 & #2 RECONSTRUCTION".

Bidders, prior to submittal of a bid, may attend one pre-bid conference with the Project Engineer and Owners. The meeting will start at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the University of Washington Friday Harbor Laboratories, Fernald Conference Room, 620 University Road, Friday Harbor, Washington 98250.

Bidder Responsibility will be evaluated for this project. In determining bidder responsibility, the Owner shall consider an overall accounting of the criteria set forth in "DIVISION 00300 SUPPLEMENTAL BIDDER RESPONSIBILITY CRITERIA".
The Town of Friday Harbor reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities or irregularities.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond and payment bond both in an amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Town of Friday Harbor.
All bidders and subcontractors shall have a contractor’s license to work in the State of Washington. All work performed on this project will be subject to Washington State prevailing wage rates.
