HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!! The Town of Friday Harbor and the San Juan Islands are OPEN FOR BUSINESS this weekend!  We are so grateful to the first responders, volunteers and clear-thinking victims of the I-5 Skagit Bridge collapse that resulted in no fatalities and only minor injuries to those involved. What a blessing!

We here in Friday Harbor and on all the islands of San Juan County, want you to know that you can still visit us on this sunny holiday weekend.  There are many alternative routes to reach the ferry landing in the City of Anacortes, even with the problems on the interstate.  On this page we have provided maps of these routes from both the south and the north.

While the ferry traffic always increases on holiday weekends, there is ample parking available at the Anacortes ferry dock and you can walk on to the Washington State Ferries to bring you to what TripAdvisor says is the NUMBER ONE ISLAND in all of America! Once on San Juan Island you are right in the heart of downtown Friday Harbor.  If you are in need of transportation there are many options including taxi, moped and the San Juan Island Transit shuttle which you can catch right at the ferry landing.  There are other alternative means to reach the San Juans this weekend including Kenmore Air and the Victoria Clipper out of Seattle.

Don’t let the problems on the freeway hold you back!  There are other routes to reach Anacortes and then you are only a beautiful ferry ride away from the best nature has to offer. Hope to see you this weekend!!
